Not getting the results you want from your print marketing? Here
are a few tips to make print marketing work for YOU.
Define a goal
The best print ads have a clear, specific goal they are looking
to achieve, whether it's building brand awareness, explaining how
the service or product alleviates a particular pain point or
showing a potential prospect the expertise of the company.
Setting this goal first will help you decide on copy and image.
Pick one goal and stick to it for each piece of print
collateral.
Add value in ads and direct mail
Give people a reason to want to hear what you have to say. Does
your service allow for a free trial period or demo? Can you offer
a discount? Or a free webinar or white paper?
Include a call to action
What do you want your potential customers to do? Make sure to
include some type of action, whether it's to call for more
information or to set up an appointment or sign up for a free
trial.
Try to limit it to one or two calls to action at most. You don't
want to overwhelm the viewer - just steer them in the right
direction and make it clear what they should do next.
Use high-impact visuals
To cut through the clutter of everyday advertising, a high-impact
visual can be the key. Use these visuals to reinforce the message
of the print piece and to draw in the reader.
Stay consistent with your branding
Fonts, colors and voice should stay the same across any type of
advertising, digital or print. Keeping your branding consistent
will differentiate you from competitors and make your service or
product easily recognizable.
