Want to create a big impact with your next print piece? There's some really amazing trends we've been seeing, all of which are guaranteed to get any type of print work noticed.
Take a look. Spot any you can use for upcoming print projects?
Foil Stamping
Foil stamping is a great way to make your printing really shine. You can add texture and shimmer to highlight certain images or text. And you're not limited to just gold or silver either - foil stamping can be done in a wide number of metallic colors and even clear and holographic foils.
Have a high-end event, want to add a stately or elegant effect or need to provide extra security and verification on things like tickets, VIP passes and gift certificates? Foil stamping adds a custom touch to anything from folders to event passes.
Spot UV
Want to set your printing apart from the masses but still keep versatility, affordability and high impact? Spot UV is the answer. This technique is more of a coating than actual printing, but the result draws immediate attention.
Similar to a regular gloss, Spot UV is a different in that it's applied to certain parts of a design to make them stand out, like a company logo or name. The UV stands for ultraviolet light, which dries the coasting to create super shiny effects.
Embossing
Embossing helps add a 3D effect by creating a raised impression. Not only is embossing eye-catching, but when someone is holding your piece it adds some extra dimension and texture.
While embossing is a single-side effect, any element of a piece can be embossed making it a good fit for pretty much every type of print out there from brochures and business cards to invitations and custom greeting cards.
Die Cutting
Die cutting lets you create any type of contour you imagine - the outlines of a logo or image to something more complex and unconventional. No matter what you're designing, die cutting adds some shape and interest to the piece.
Similar to a pastry cutter, a custom die is produced to create and stamp out your one-of-a-kind print.
